In a shocking incident in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh, a woman was stabbed in the chest by her ex-boyfriend. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 7th, in Digaonpur Rikshaw Para. The victim and her mother had gone to the home of the former boyfriend, Rahul Sarathi (19), to ask him to stay away from their daughter. An altercation ensued, during which the assailant attacked the woman, and her mother was also injured while trying to intervene.
The incident took place in the Rampur police station area. Rahul had been frequenting the girl’s house and would often harass her over minor issues, fueled by suspicion, leading to physical altercations. After a year of the relationship, the girl ended the relationship due to the constant harassment. However, Rahul continued to pursue her. The victim reported that Rahul had threatened to harm her and her mother after being released from jail.
The minor victim stated that Rahul frequently visited their home, using abusive language and engaging in physical violence. He would say that she couldn’t be with anyone else and that he had become infamous in the neighborhood and at home because of her, so she couldn’t leave him. She further revealed that he had previously attacked her face, resulting in stitches above her eye, and this time he stabbed her in the chest.
Rahul is unemployed. He has also threatened to harm her again after being released from jail. He repeatedly threatened that she could not belong to anyone else. Rahul’s father works in the health department in a government job. It’s known that the victim already had multiple injury marks on her body. The police have registered a case based on the family’s complaint and have initiated an investigation.
