Heavy rains have caused widespread devastation across Chhattisgarh. In Bilaspur, a tragic incident occurred where four members of a family were swept away by a flooded stream. Three children have been confirmed dead, while the search for the fourth family member continues. The incident happened in the Belgahana Chowki area, where the family was returning from a visit to the Marhi Mata shrine. The stream, swollen by the continuous downpour, overflowed its banks. As the family attempted to cross, a sudden surge of water swept away the children. Rescue teams initiated search operations immediately after receiving the news. The bodies of the three children have been sent for post-mortem examination. The incident has caused immense grief within the family and among relatives. Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in several parts of the Sarguja, Bastar, and Bilaspur divisions, and in some areas of the Raipur and Durg divisions over the past 24 hours. Rescue operations were temporarily halted due to heavy rain and darkness but resumed the following morning.
