Former MLA Shailesh Pandey has received death threats and a demand for a 20 lakh rupee ransom. The caller threatened to harm his daughter if the money wasn’t paid. The incident has been reported to the Sakri police station. The call was received on the mobile phone of his wife, Ritu Pandey, at around 11:45 AM on Wednesday. The caller demanded 20 lakhs and threatened to kidnap the daughter of Manju Pandey, the Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives, if the money was not provided. Pandey immediately informed the SSP and then reported the incident to Sakri TI Pradeep Arya. A case has been registered under sections 296 and 351(2). Pandey expressed surprise that the threat mentioned Manju Pandey’s daughter, even though the call was to his wife. The police have launched an investigation to identify the person behind the threat. The incident has created a stir, with rumors circulating in political circles. Sakri police are investigating the matter, and using surveillance to track down the suspect.
