The Hareli festival, deeply rooted in Chhattisgarh’s culture and agricultural traditions, was celebrated with traditional fervor at the Chief Minister’s residence. The event, organized by the state’s Department of Culture, showcased the vibrant colors of folk life, cultural heritage, and respect for farmers. Performances included folk dances like Gedi dance and Raut Nacha by artists from various regions of Chhattisgarh. Sawan Jhula (swing) and Savanahi Ramayana recitation were also major attractions. This gathering served not only as a cultural event but also as a vibrant celebration of the state’s folk traditions and heritage.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the event and performed a puja of agricultural tools and implements, a central tradition of the Hareli festival. An extensive exhibition of both traditional and modern agricultural tools was also set up, aiming to introduce the new generation to Chhattisgarh’s agricultural practices and technological advancements. Traditional games and folk art exhibitions for children were also part of the celebration. Hareli was presented as a confluence of environment, tradition, and progress.

Chief Minister Sai extended his greetings to the people of the state, emphasizing that Hareli is not just a festival of farming and greenery but a celebration of coexistence with folk life, tradition, and nature. The government is committed to passing on this cultural heritage to the new generation. The event at the Chief Minister’s residence was an effort to preserve Chhattisgarh’s rural folk culture and bring it to the forefront of public life.
