    People are eagerly awaiting the monsoon to get relief from the scorching heat. While heavy rainfall is occurring in the northeastern and southern states due to the monsoon’s influence, pre-monsoon showers are also occurring in some plain areas, including Delhi, and western Himalayan regions. The southwest monsoon has currently reached most parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.

    Over the next two days, the monsoon is likely to advance into the northern Arabian Sea and parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, extending from Gujarat. Meanwhile, pre-monsoon rains have drenched Delhi. A drop in temperature has been recorded due to strong winds and rain. A yellow alert has been issued for Delhi today. Light rain with thunderstorms is expected in the evening or at night. Furthermore, rain can be expected in the capital for the next three days.

    **Red Alert for These States**

    According to the IMD, two low-pressure areas have formed. One is over the southwest of Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic plains of West Bengal, and the other is in the Gujarat region. Due to this, heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha today and tomorrow. A red alert has been issued for these states.

    **Weather Forecast**

    Moderate to heavy rainfall can be expected in many parts of Uttar Pradesh today and tomorrow. Thunderstorms are also likely. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in the western Himalayan region, Haryana, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep. Light rain may occur in Telangana, Vidarbha, and Marathwada.

    Very heavy rainfall is likely in south Gujarat during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rainfall can be expected in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, north Bihar, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh, and Northeast India.
