On December 28, ED had raided the premises of former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Lakhma in three districts of Raipur, Sukma and Dhamtari. After the raid, ED had said in its statement that it has been able to collect evidence related to the use of POC in cash by Kawasi Lakhma. Apart from this, several digital devices were recovered and confiscated during the search, which are believed to contain incriminating records. Now after making inquiries, ED officials are busy connecting the links.
Arrest possible after interrogation
According to information received from sources, ED may arrest Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Lakhma after interrogation. Along with this, they can be produced in the court and demand remand for further questioning.

ED has been taking action regarding liquor scam in Chhattisgarh for almost two years. In this case, Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar’s brother Anwar Dhebar and AP Tripathi are already in jail. Due to the ongoing action in the ED case, many politicians and officials may come under the radar in the coming days.
