    A distressing incident of sexual assault involving a minor has occurred in the Masturi police station area of Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh. A 13-year-old girl, returning from school, had stepped out of her house in the late evening to relieve herself when Raju Markam, a young man from the same village, violated her.

    According to reports, Markam took advantage of the girl’s solitude, and sexually assaulted her. Following the assault, Raju Markam fled the scene.

    The victim recounted the ordeal to her family, who then informed the police. Responding swiftly, the police apprehended the accused. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime. The police have registered a case against the accused under charges of rape and the POCSO Act, initiating judicial proceedings.
