Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Chhattisgarh’s remarkable progress, marking its 25th statehood anniversary by inaugurating a slew of development projects. The state is now a beacon of confidence and advancement, according to the Prime Minister. During his visit to Nava Raipur, Modi inaugurated initiatives valued at over Rs 14,260 crore, spanning crucial sectors like roads, industry, healthcare, and energy. He highlighted significant achievements, including the expansion of rural electrification to every village, widespread internet access, and the provision of Ujjwala gas connections to even the most vulnerable households. Furthermore, he emphasized the dramatic improvement in rural connectivity, noting a 40,000 km road network that now links remote areas. A key highlight was the ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony, where 3.51 lakh homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were officially handed over, alongside the release of Rs 1,200 crore for an additional 3 lakh rural housing beneficiaries. Modi also paid homage to Chhattisgarh’s legacy by unveiling statues and museums dedicated to local heroes and tribal freedom fighters. The new Vidhan Sabha building, a testament to sustainable architecture powered by solar energy and featuring rainwater harvesting, was also inaugurated. The Prime Minister pointed out Chhattisgarh’s transformation from a region once perceived as backward and affected by Naxalism to a symbol of prosperity and stability, attributing this to the people’s vision and hard work. He also touched upon India’s global responsibilities, including disaster relief and environmental conservation efforts. The visit culminated with an interaction with children treated for heart conditions, reinforcing the government’s commitment to public welfare and healthcare.
