After a prolonged break, the monsoon has reactivated in Chhattisgarh, extending from Bastar to the Durg district. The state is anticipated to experience heavy rainfall in numerous areas over the next three to four days. The capital, Raipur, along with several other districts, has already seen overcast skies and the potential for rain since morning. Favorable conditions are developing for the further advancement of the southwest monsoon. Light to moderate rainfall occurred in parts of the state over the past 24 hours.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has progressed into the entire Konkan region, parts of Central Maharashtra, Gujarat, southwestern Madhya Pradesh, additional portions of Vidarbha, parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and some areas of Sikkim. This has led to a change in the weather patterns across the state. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in North Chhattisgarh on June 17 and 18.

Today, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in some parts of the state. Strong winds and lightning are also possible in certain areas. In Raipur, the sky is expected to be generally cloudy today, with the possibility of rain accompanied by thunder.
