Police in Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh, conducted a significant operation against illegal gambling. Acting on information about large-scale gambling activities in the Chhata forest area of Pantora, the police raided the location. Upon seeing the police, all the gamblers fled. However, the police seized 17 motorcycles from the scene.

Gambling had reportedly been taking place in the Chhata forest for a long time, with authorities previously unable to catch the perpetrators. SP Vijay Pandey received a tip-off regarding the gambling activities in Chhata forest. Subsequently, the SP formed a police team comprising officers from the Baloda police station and the Pantora sub-police station.

When the police team raided the area, all the gamblers managed to escape. Nonetheless, 17 motorcycles were recovered, and the police are taking further action in the matter.
