In the Arjuni police station area of Dhamtari district, a young man named Vinod Kumar, who was serving as a priest in a Durga Puja pandal during Navratri, was found dead by suicide. On Friday afternoon, he left the pandal and went to a nearby house. When he did not return for a long time, people went to look for him and found Vinod hanging from a gamcha (a type of scarf). This tragic incident has plunged the entire village into mourning, turning the joyous Durga Mahotsav celebrations into a period of sorrow. Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination at the Dhamtari District Hospital and are investigating the cause of the suicide. The reason behind this act remains unclear, casting a shadow of grief over the village.
