    A new case of cyber fraud has emerged, where a man’s bank account was emptied through the use of an OTP (One-Time Password). The victim has filed a report, and an investigation into the matter has commenced. This incident serves as a serious warning amidst the rise of online scams.

    Rakesh Suryavanshi, residing in a rented accommodation in Vinoba Nagar, Tarbahar police station area, was targeted. The fraud was carried out via an OTP. When Rakesh woke up in the morning, he received an OTP message on his mobile. Shortly after, a total of ₹2,35,338 was transferred from his account. Upon checking his balance, he found only ₹1,423.97 remaining.

    Upon learning of the incident, the victim lodged a report at the concerned police station. Considering the seriousness of the matter, a case has been registered against unknown individuals under sections 318 and 4 of the BNS. The investigation is currently ongoing.
