    A new case of cyber fraud has surfaced, where a man’s bank account was emptied of lakhs of rupees through the use of an OTP. The victim has filed a report, and an investigation into the matter has commenced. This incident serves as a serious warning amidst the rising cases of online scams.

    Rakesh Suryavanshi, residing in a rented house in Vinoba Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Tarbahar police station, fell victim to the scam. The fraud was executed by sending an OTP to him. Upon waking up in the morning, Rakesh received an OTP message on his mobile. Shortly after, a total of ₹2,35,338 was transferred from his account. When he checked his balance, only ₹1,423.97 remained.

    Upon learning of the incident, the victim filed a report at the concerned police station. The case has been registered against unknown individuals under sections 318 and 4 of the BNS, considering the gravity of the situation. The investigation is currently underway.
