    Significant Day for Chhattisgarh: Inauguration and Groundbreaking of Projects Worth Over 260 Crores

    Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will honor the sanitation workers, who have brought national recognition to Chhattisgarh, by washing their feet at the Swachhta Sangam-2025, organized by the Department of Urban Administration and Development in Bilaspur district on August 12, 2025. On this occasion, he will also recognize urban bodies that have performed exceptionally well in the Swachh Survekshan-2024-25.

    The Swachhta Sangam will be attended by mayors, chairpersons, members in charge of the health department from all municipal corporations in the state, presidents, vice-presidents, members in charge of the health department from municipalities and town councils, corporation commissioners, chief municipal officers, senior engineers of urban bodies, and nodal officers of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), with nine thousand sanitation workers invited.

    The Department of Urban Administration and Development stated that the Swachhta Sangam will honor sanitation workers who have made significant contributions to making cities clean and beautiful. Seven urban bodies that have excelled in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 will receive awards from the hands of President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Along with these urban bodies, more than 30 urban bodies that have performed best at the division level will also be honored at the event.

    A state-level competition will be launched at the Swachhta Sangam to enhance standards of cleanliness and urban beautification in urban bodies. This competition will not only help in making cities clean and beautiful but will also improve administrative skills through good governance and promote urban beautification. This initiative will encourage representatives, officials, and citizens of every urban body to recognize their capabilities in the field of cleanliness and urban beautification and improve them further.

    During the program, a GIS-based property tax live portal will be inaugurated for online property tax payment in three municipal corporations—Birgaon, Bhilai-Charoda, and Dhamtari—and 43 municipalities. The launch of online property tax payment facilities in 46 cities simultaneously is a significant step towards modernizing local self-governance and providing facilities to citizens at their doorstep. This will also increase the speed of tax collection.

    Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 260 crore at the Swachhta Sangam. Under this, he will inaugurate 24 construction and development works worth over Rs 63.57 crore and lay the foundation stone for 25 works worth over Rs 197 crore in Bilaspur district. He will also distribute materials and checks to the beneficiaries of various schemes during the program.

    Chief Minister Sai will inaugurate a commercial complex constructed at a cost of Rs 3.85 crore at Nutan Chowk in Bilaspur, an STP costing Rs 9.05 crore in Koni, a girls’ hostel of the Government Engineering College costing Rs 4.82 crore, a 3.6 km-long Ngoi Basti to Modhe Naka road constructed at a cost of Rs 6.29 crore, a 7 km-long road Usalapur-Daija road widening, strengthening and asphalting work costing Rs 12.53 crore, and a 3.5 km-long Mangla Bhainsajhar to Deendayal Colony Lokhandi railway crossing two-lane road construction work costing Rs 5.45 crore. Along with this, he will also launch the नल-जल scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission in 11 villages of Bilaspur district.

    Chief Minister Sai will lay the foundation stone for the construction of the Nalanda campus and academic block under the Education Hub at a cost of Rs 26.42 crore, and a Gaurav Path costing Rs 17 crore from Ashok Nagar Chowk to Birkora Mod under the Chief Minister’s Urban Upliftment Scheme. In addition, he will lay the foundation stone for the construction of Atal Path costing Rs 9.74 crore from Arpa Indrasetu to Ram Setu, and road construction from Mangla Chowk to Azad Chowk costing Rs 5.09 crore under the Chief Minister’s Urban Upliftment Scheme.

    Chief Minister Sai will lay the foundation stone for a high-level bridge on the Arpa River on the Shanchari-Chantidih road costing Rs 11.56 crore, a bridge on the Maniyari River between Takhatpur-Barela costing Rs 3.76 crore, the upgradation of the water supply system operating in Bhatrai, Rajkishore Nagar, Lingiyadih, Devrikhurd, and Sirgitti costing Rs 9.90 crore, the strengthening of the 12.6 km-long Butena-Dhaurabhata road costing Rs 34.16 crore, the English medium Adarsh ​​College building costing Rs 10 crore, and an auditorium to be built in Bilaspur costing Rs 22.22 crore.

    In addition, he will lay the foundation stone for an anicut in Vijaypur costing Rs 6.81 crore and the construction of a 2.5 km-long road, including a culvert on the Sarar Nala between Son to Sonesari Sabridehra in Bilaspur district, costing Rs 7.96 crore, along with various works of the Municipal Corporation, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Public Works Department, Rural Engineering Service, and Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
