The Chief Minister stated that this will strengthen national unity and increase economic and cultural exchange between different states.

The Unity Mall will boost local products and employment.

Raipur, January 1, 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is establishing a Unity Mall to promote the One District One Product (ODOP) model and boost the sale of local products in the state.

The establishment of the Unity Mall will encourage local artisans, weavers, and self-help groups, and create new employment opportunities. The display and sale of products in the mall will encourage artisans and benefit small entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and weavers of the state. It will serve as a “one-stop marketplace” for the promotion and sale of local products.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Unity Mall is a revolutionary step for the development of the poor, youth, farmers, and women of the state. It will take the state’s economy to new heights while also boosting local employment. It will also promote “Make in India” and national unity. The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh government considers the development of the state’s residents and important issues like national integration and “Make in India” as its priorities. The Unity Mall, to be established in the state, will also showcase and sell important local products from all other states. This will strengthen national unity and increase economic and cultural exchange between different states.

Chief Minister Shri Sai explained that the central government, under the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is providing full support for this reform by the Chhattisgarh government to create a healthy ecosystem to encourage artisans, weavers, self-help groups, and local people and generate new employment at the local level. The central government has approved ₹200 crore for the establishment of the Unity Mall in the state, of which ₹100 crore has been provided to the state as an advance under capital expenditure (CAPEX).

Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary said that along with local handicrafts, local dishes will also be made available for sale in the food courts at the Unity Mall. The plan is to reach global markets with the special products of each district through the Unity Mall. The responsibility for establishing the Unity Mall has been entrusted to the Raipur Development Authority. The Unity Mall will not only increase the income of the state’s local artisans but will also strengthen Chhattisgarh’s cultural identity. He said that this endeavor of the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will create a strong and sustainable ecosystem in Chhattisgarh, which will help in development in rural areas and access to products in urban markets.
