The states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have been particularly affected, with the rains causing significant damage. Delhi-NCR experienced a change in weather this morning, with overcast skies. Heavy rainfall in several areas has created conditions similar to nighttime. Starting at 5 AM, heavy rainfall began in many parts of Delhi-NCR. The weather department anticipates rain throughout the day in the capital. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Delhi today.
Cloud cover will persist over most of Delhi-NCR. Showers with thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, with the intensity potentially increasing by evening. The weather department suggests that generally, the sky may remain overcast on August 15th, with the possibility of one or two instances of rain or thunderstorms. Rainfall is expected to continue in Delhi until August 19th.
The weather department has issued a heavy rain alert for several districts in Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rainfall is expected in many districts of western UP today. Lightning strikes are also possible in several districts. Monsoon activity will intensify over the next 48 hours in the state, with light to moderate rain expected in most parts of the state. Some areas may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The weather department indicates that the weather in the state is unlikely to change over the next three to four days. Some districts of the state may experience either partial or heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms may also occur.
A low-pressure area has formed over west-central India and the adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal, off the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Telangana between August 14th and 17th. Extremely heavy rainfall is predicted in Yanam today.
In Uttarakhand, the weather is not expected to improve today. A red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for the state. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in Bageshwar, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Tehri, and Udham Singh Nagar. Himachal Pradesh is also experiencing heavy rainfall. The weather department has issued an alert for light to heavy rainfall over the next six to seven days. An orange alert is in place for Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Chamba. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir is expected to experience rainfall until August 18th. Heavy rainfall is possible today and tomorrow.
