Following a recent tragic drowning incident at the Gajpalla Waterfall, the Gariaband district administration has heightened its vigilance. The Forest Department and the police have increased security measures at major waterfalls in the district, particularly Chindrapagar and Gajpalla.

The administration has stated that some tourists risk their lives for the sake of Instagram and social media reels. To prevent the recurrence of incidents like the one at Gajpalla, every waterfall is now under close observation.

    Changes implemented include:

    * Barricading on the road leading to Chindrapagar Waterfall.
    * Deployment of local staff to monitor all activities.
    * Public announcements in nearby villages to alert people.
    * Placement of banners and posters warning against stunts and swimming.
    * Temporary closure of the waterfall to the general public.
