A two-year-old child in Korba, Chhattisgarh, tragically lost their life after choking on a chickpea. The incident occurred when the child, identified as Divyansh Kumar, swallowed the chickpea, which became lodged in their throat. Despite immediate medical attention, the child succumbed to the obstruction. The incident took place in the Ghantaghar area of Korba district. The child’s father was away at work when the incident occurred. The child’s parents rushed him to the hospital, where doctors attempted to save him, but the chickpea had already caused severe complications. The family has alleged medical negligence, though a pediatric specialist stated that the child’s condition was critical upon arrival and that the chickpea had traveled into the lungs, causing internal bleeding.
