Women Tie Bonds of Love on Jawans’ Wrists, Saying: We Sleep in Peace Because You’re Awake

In Raipur, at the Police Parade Ground, Civil Lines, the Helping Hands Club Foundation organized a special Raksha Bandhan event, ‘Rakhi with Protector, a Bond of Love’. Jawans from the BSF, ITBP, Chhattisgarh Police, Central Force, and Odisha participated. During the event, sisters tied rakhis on the wrists of the jawans, adorning their wrists and expressing their gratitude and affection. The women present at the event expressed, “We sleep peacefully because you are awake. We remain safe because of your duty.” Dr. Lal Umed, the organizer of the Helping Hands Club Foundation, mentioned that the jawans remain away from their families because of their duty. While they are deployed in the security of the country, we all can celebrate festivals safely. He also emphasized the need to pay attention to the increasing problems of cybercrime and drugs, stating that vigilance and caution are our greatest security. IPS Rajesh Kukreja stated that Helping Hands has honored the entire police family of India by tying rakhis to the jawans. He also appreciated the initiative of Helping Hands, saying that it is special for those jawans who do not have their own sisters and this event fills their void. Manoj Goyal, the patron of Helping Hands, said their objective is to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with the jawan brothers who stay away from their homes for our safety. Babita Agarwal, the president of the women’s wing, stated that the smile on the faces of the jawans when they tie them rakhis gives them a lot of peace. The event also discussed challenges like cybercrime and drugs. Dr. Lal Umed especially urged the sisters to be vigilant and cautious in the real world.
