A yellow alert has been issued for 18 districts in Chhattisgarh today. The state capital, Raipur, experienced rainfall from Friday evening through the night, with intermittent showers continuing into the morning. Light to moderate rainfall occurred across most divisions of the state in the past 24 hours, with Bijapur recording the highest amount at 56 mm. According to the weather department, this weather pattern is expected to persist for the next two days due to an atmospheric circulation in the Bay of Bengal. The districts under the yellow alert include Raipur, Surguja, GPM, Korba, Dhamtari, Kondagaon, Gariaband, Bijapur, and Bastar, where thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are anticipated.

Tragically, a family of three in the Takhatpur area of Bilaspur was affected by a lightning strike. One person died, and two others sustained injuries. The injured individuals have been referred to SIMS Hospital for advanced medical treatment, and their condition is reported as serious.
