Hosted at Dispur’s Lok Sewa Bhawan, the event spotlighted employee welfare amid ongoing administrative reforms. The new salary advance lets workers draw funds flexibly—lump sum or up to 12 monthly installments—via banks at minimal interest.
Repayment terms are employee-friendly: quick refunds post-salary credit attract lower rates, incentivizing prompt clearance. This shields staff from usurious loans during crises, a pain point for many families.
Sarma detailed the portal’s role in fair transfers, opening biannually for transparency. Excluding prior users (about 9,000), it invites fresh applications for desired locations. The cycle from January to June 2025 sets the precedent, with this phase aiming March 7 closure and pre-March 31 finalization.
‘Administrative, not political,’ Sarma assured, promising Election Commission oversight. A 15-day application window ensures efficiency.
