    The Severe Cyclonic Storm “Shakthi” over the northwest Arabian Sea continues to develop, moving west-southwest at a speed of 15 kmph in the last six hours. The storm’s movement has been consistent, with a speed of 17 kmph over the previous six hours, according to the latest meteorological data. It is projected to continue its westward and southward trajectory, reaching the northwest and adjacent west-central Arabian Sea by the evening of Sunday, October 5th. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the East Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. Mumbai and certain parts of Gujarat are under a heavy rain warning. Light rain is anticipated in Mumbai through October 8th, 2025. Wind speeds during the cyclone are expected to reach 45–55 km/h, with gusts potentially hitting 65 km/h, particularly along the North Maharashtra coast until Sunday, October 5th. The storm is expected to impact the Maharashtra and Gujarat coasts by October 6th. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather conditions as the cyclone advances. Authorities in coastal districts of Saurashtra have returned to their respective districts. Sunday leaves for Collectorate staff were canceled as authorities closely monitored the storm. Cyclone Shakthi is likely to remain at sea. From October 6th, the cyclone is likely to shift direction, moving eastward while gradually weakening.
