Investigators have uncovered a complex ownership history for the Hyundai i20 used in the recent Delhi blast. Over an 11-year period, the vehicle changed hands five times. The final buyer reportedly used identification linking them to Pulwama to secure the car. The accused purchased the vehicle for ₹1.70 lakh via OLX and had planned to finalize the ownership transfer after renewing its pollution certificate and using it in the explosion.

The car, bearing registration number HR26CE7476, was initially bought new in 2014. By 2017, it had been sold to a second owner in Gurugram. The ownership trail continued through multiple exchanges, with the car passing through a used vehicle agency in March 2024 before reaching an individual in Delhi. Crucially, this transfer was not officially completed. The car was then traded again to a Faridabad-based car dealership.

According to the dealership owner, the car was listed on OLX. Two individuals, including Aamir Rashid, inspected the car on October 29, 2025, and decided to purchase it immediately. Rashid presented Aadhaar and PAN cards with a Pulwama address. The transaction was facilitated by a staff member who received a commission. Sources indicate that the purchase was financed by an individual associated with Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad.

Following the purchase, the car was handed over to the individual linked to the medical college. Although the insurance was valid, the pollution certificate had expired and was renewed shortly before the blast. The ownership transfer was still pending when the explosion occurred. Investigators confirmed that the vehicle remains officially registered in the name of the second owner from 2017. One suspect in the case reportedly worked as a plumber at Al Falah University.
