The investigation into the Delhi car blast has intensified, with new details emerging about the terrorists’ communication channels. Sources indicate that Dr. Umar Mohammad, confirmed through DNA testing as the driver of the explosive-laden vehicle, was in contact with a handler identified as ‘UKasa.’ This handler is believed to be based in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Intelligence agencies are actively probing the possibility that ‘UKasa’ is a codename used to obscure the handler’s true identity. Further investigations are also focusing on whether several Indian nationals traveled to Ankara in March 2022, potentially undergoing radicalization during that period. Crucially, Dr. Umar and other arrested terrorists reportedly used the encrypted ‘Session App’ for secret communications with their handler, exchanging sensitive information and coordinating their illicit activities. The Hyundai i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort Metro Station, claiming 12 lives and injuring many, has been the subject of extensive forensic analysis. DNA samples from Dr. Umar’s mother were matched with fragments recovered from the burnt vehicle, conclusively identifying him as the driver. The Union Cabinet has officially classified the incident as a ‘terrorist act’ and is pushing for an urgent and professional investigation to bring all involved parties, including collaborators and sponsors, to justice.
