As part of the Delhi government’s ‘Seva Pakhwada’ initiative, commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led a cleanliness drive. This 15-day program, which runs until October 2nd, includes the launch of 75 public services. Gupta and her cabinet participated in a sanitation campaign, cleaning the Ring Road in Shalimar Bagh. During the event, the Chief Minister issued a strong warning to those who deface the city with posters and other forms of litter. Gupta emphasized that the cleanliness drive is an ongoing effort, not a one-time event. She noted the presence of litter and posters, which contribute to the city’s uncleanliness. Thousands of people participated in the Ring Road drive. Gupta stressed that this work requires the involvement of institutions, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), representatives, officials, and every individual to ensure a clean city. She appealed to Delhi residents to refrain from wall writing and putting up posters, especially requesting leaders not to put up posters with her photo. Gupta declared that any form of defacement would not be tolerated, urging both officials and the public to cooperate. Furthermore, the Delhi government has extended the time limit for using speakers during Ramlila and Durga Puja, allowing their use until 12 AM. Gupta highlighted that she observed difficulties faced by Hindu festivals, as they often couldn’t conclude by 10 PM. She questioned why Delhi should have such restrictions when other states allow events to continue throughout the night. Therefore, all Ramlila, Durga Puja, and cultural religious celebrations have been granted permission to extend their activities until midnight. Gupta concluded that the government is dedicated to continuous development efforts, dedicating various services to the people of Delhi. As part of this, the interstate bus service, which was once closed, is being restarted.
