The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, a significant infrastructure project, is nearing completion, connecting Delhi to Dehradun via a route spanning 210 km. The project, budgeted at approximately Rs 13,000 crore, will link Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. A key feature of this expressway is the wildlife corridor, designed to be Asia’s largest, ensuring the safe passage of animals through the Rajaji Tiger Reserve without disruption. While the section from Ganeshpur to Dehradun presented construction challenges due to dense forests, significant progress has been made, with the remaining work expected to be finalized in the coming months. Upon completion, the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun will be reduced by 2.5 to 3 hours, facilitating easier access to tourist destinations and boosting regional development.
