A recent explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort has prompted a swift police investigation, with authorities detaining a man named Salman, the original owner of the i20 car involved. The blast, which occurred in a moving Hyundai i20 (registration HR 26 7624) with three occupants at the time, has raised serious concerns. Salman claims he had sold the vehicle to a Devendra from Okhla, who subsequently sold it to an individual in Ambala, Haryana. Police are actively working with RTO officials to trace the car’s current ownership and have obtained all relevant documents from Salman. Officials noted the unusual nature of the explosion, stating no craters or pellets were found on the injured, suggesting it may not have been a conventional bomb. The Union Home Minister has assured that all possible angles are being thoroughly examined, with multiple specialized agencies, including the Special Cell, Crime Branch, NIA, SPG, and FSL, converging on the scene to expedite the investigation and determine the cause of the incident.
