A cloudburst in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the tragic loss of four lives and the destruction of over ten houses on Tuesday, August 26th. The intense rainfall triggered severe flash floods throughout the district. This event follows similar incidents that have recently occurred in Kathua and Kishtwar. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for torrential rains across several regions of Jammu, with Kathua, Samba, Doda, Jammu, Ramban, and Kishtwar being the most susceptible. In response to the precarious weather conditions, all schools in the Jammu division will be closed.
