In a heart-wrenching incident, three individuals from one family lost their lives after a massive fire engulfed their flat in Goregaon West, Mumbai. The fire was reported around 11:15 PM in a high-rise building, quickly spreading through the furniture and electrical fixtures. Neighbors alerted the authorities after seeing thick smoke billowing from the fourth-floor windows. Despite the efforts of eight fire tenders and four water tankers, the victims succumbed to asphyxiation and severe burns. Local authorities have ordered a thorough fire audit of the building to check for any negligence or lack of functioning safety equipment. This tragedy underscores the urgent need for regular electrical maintenance in residential societies.
