Faridabad Police have established a dedicated Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the alleged links between Al-Falah University and an extremist cell implicated in the recent Delhi Red Fort blast. This local police initiative complements ongoing inquiries by multiple central agencies, focusing on how individuals connected to the blast operated undetected from the university premises for a significant duration. The SIT, comprising two Assistant Commissioners of Police, an inspector, and two sub-inspectors, is meticulously examining the university’s internal operations, financial dealings, and any potential support networks. Their primary objective is to pinpoint the mechanisms that facilitated the use of the campus as an operational hub for the accused doctor. Investigators are intensely scrutinizing the procurement, storage, and transportation of explosives from Faridabad to Delhi, seeking to understand how these activities evaded detection. The SIT will also assess whether institutional shortcomings, inadequate supervision, or external aid contributed to the module’s prolonged clandestine operations. Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta has emphasized the need for a comprehensive report on the university’s environment that potentially enabled such covert activities. Al-Falah University has been under scrutiny for weeks due to these potential terror links, as well as separate investigations into alleged financial irregularities and forged accreditation.
