After a brief spell of relief, Delhi-NCR’s air has turned toxic again, pushing AQI into dangerous red territory across key urban pockets. The toxic mix of smog, fog, and biting cold is compounding health risks for millions.

Latest monitors show Delhi’s Anand Vihar choking at AQI 334, Chandni Chowk at 323, and Nehru Nagar at 329. Okhla Phase-2 (310), Patparganj (301), and R.K. Puram (300) are equally bad. Punjabi Bagh logged 298, while Rohini and Ashok Vihar were at 281 and 287. Brighter spots include Aya Nagar (149) and Pusa (187).

    Across the border, Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram reached 332, Loni 314, and Vasundhara 318. Noida’s sectors fared poorly too: 125 at 304, 1 at 307, 116 at 294, and 62 at 231.

Weather experts predict prolonged woes. Dense fog blanketed the area this morning, with max temp at 20°C and min at 8°C. Expect moderate fog February 4-5 (21°C/9°C), extending to February 6-8 (22-23°C/9-10°C). Western disturbances bringing hill snowfalls are trapping pollutants with sluggish winds and chill.

While no alerts are out, early mornings and evenings demand masks and minimal exposure. This pollution-fog cocktail signals a tough week for the National Capital Region, urging stricter emission controls and public vigilance.
