Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Goa Medical College and Hospital, has rejected the apology offered by Goa’s Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane. Kuttikar insists on a public apology, specifically in the casualty department where the initial incident took place. The Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has also voiced support, warning of a potential strike if the minister fails to comply with the CMO’s demand. The incident stemmed from a disagreement over a B12 injection for a patient’s relative, which the CMO stated was not an emergency requirement.

Kuttikar described the minister’s apology as insincere, calling it a ‘studio apology.’ He emphasized his desire for the apology to be as widely publicized as the video of his humiliation, seeking to ensure everyone is aware of the situation. The health minister had previously issued an apology on social media, expressing regret for his conduct and acknowledging that the situation has been politicized. His apology stated that he respected the doctors and their contributions to the state.
