The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), is launching ‘NAVYA’ – a pilot program designed to provide vocational training to adolescent girls. This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ and the government’s commitment to women-led development. The program will commence in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. The program focuses on providing vocational training to adolescent girls aged 16-18 who have completed Class 10, primarily in non-traditional job roles. It will be implemented across 27 districts, including aspirational districts and those in the North-Eastern States, spanning 19 states, reflecting the government’s inclusive approach. The launch event will feature interactions with adolescent girl trainees and the distribution of certificates from the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and PM Vishwakarma schemes.
