The weather across India is currently wreaking havoc, with several regions experiencing intense rainfall leading to widespread devastation, while others grapple with drought conditions. The relentless downpours have resulted in numerous fatalities. Punjab is among the worst-hit areas, with approximately 2,000 villages submerged. Conversely, states like Tamil Nadu are facing drought-like situations.

Torrential rains have been battering the country for the past week, particularly devastating northern India. These heavy downpours have triggered landslides in mountainous regions, causing major cities and rural areas to become inundated. The disruption of essential infrastructure has exacerbated the crisis, leading to loss of life.

In Uttarakhand, the heavy rainfall has caused several incidents, including natural disasters that have claimed approximately 79 lives. Furthermore, landslides and cloudbursts have left 95 people missing.
