In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a man named Mahendra was apprehended for the murder of his pregnant wife, Swathi. The crime occurred in Balaji Hills, a suburb of Medipally. The couple, originally from the Vikarabad district, had married and settled in the area. After an argument on Saturday afternoon, Mahendra killed Swathi, dismembered her body, and attempted to dispose of the remains. He initially contacted his sister, feigning concern about his wife’s disappearance, but his suspicious behavior led a family member to alert the authorities. During interrogation, Mahendra confessed to the murder. Police discovered that he had discarded Swathi’s head, hands, and legs in the Musi River. While divers searched for the missing body parts, only the torso was found at the couple’s residence. The victim was only 21 years old and five months pregnant. Forensic evidence has been collected, and a DNA test will be conducted to confirm the deceased’s identity. A case has been registered, and a fast-track investigation and trial will follow.
