Torrential rain continues to disrupt daily life in several regions, leading to significant traffic congestion and widespread disruption. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates continued rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu and Kerala for the next 6 to 7 days, with extremely heavy rainfall predicted for Kerala and the ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on August 5. The Delhi-NCR region is also expected to experience a wet spell this week, with partly cloudy skies and light rainfall predicted. Residents are advised to avoid low-lying areas and unnecessary outdoor activities. Incessant showers are also forecasted for the Northeast and adjoining East India over the next seven days, impacting areas such as Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Several other regions, including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, and northeast Rajasthan, are also expected to be affected by the rainfall. The Met Department has warned of increased monsoon activity across the eastern, western, and central regions, urging residents to stay alert, take precautions, monitor weather updates, and avoid potential hazards.
