Heavy rainfall has hit Delhi-NCR, accompanied by a drop in temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts heavy rain and thunderstorms for Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East and West Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. A low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal is expected to bring showers to many areas. The monsoon season continues to cause disruption, particularly in hilly regions, with landslides and casualties reported. Red and orange alerts have been issued in several states, with warnings for heavy rainfall in Northwest, West Coast, and Northeast India over the next 6-7 days. Intense rain is also expected in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West and East Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours. The IMD predicts rainfall in South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe (9th-12th), Coastal Karnataka (7th-10th), and Telangana (7th & 8th July).
