The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several states, forecasting heavy rainfall in parts of East and Northeast India, along with thunderstorms in various regions on Saturday, October 4th. Several active weather systems are expected to influence the weather across different states. While the southwest monsoon is withdrawing, a depression is present over Odisha and Jharkhand. Cyclone Shakhti, currently over the northeast Arabian Sea, is moving northwest. Maharashtra is expected to experience heavy rainfall on Saturday due to the cyclone. The IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall, with the possibility of extremely heavy showers in Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Heavy rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, are also expected in Northeast, Central, and parts of South India. Delhi is expected to have a partly cloudy sky for the next two days, with a chance of very light rain/thunderstorm/lightning in the afternoon/evening on October 5th. Minimum and maximum temperatures in Delhi are predicted to be in the range of 22-24°C and 34-36°C, respectively.
