North India is currently experiencing the full force of the monsoon season. Continuous heavy rainfall over the past several days has resulted in significant waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides across numerous areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain in several cities, including Delhi-NCR, as incessant rainfall continues to cause widespread disruption.

Authorities have warned of further risks in Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region due to the ongoing release of excess water from nearby barrages. The Vasudev Ghat area is currently inundated as the water level of the Yamuna River rises. Furthermore, heavy rainfall has led to traffic congestion and slow vehicular movement on Mathura Road.

The Met Department forecasts heavy rain across East, West, Central, Northeast, and Northwest India. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in isolated locations in the Gujarat Region (September 4-6); Saurashtra & Kutch (September 6), Konkan & Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra (September 7); Uttarakhand (September 3-9); Haryana and Chandigarh (September 4-9); West Rajasthan (September 5-8); and East Rajasthan (September 6). The situation in Punjab remains critical, with floods having displaced thousands and claimed approximately 30 lives.
