    India is gearing up to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025. The nation and the world will be focused on the historic Red Fort in Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts. This will be his 12th Independence Day speech as Prime Minister. The program is scheduled to begin around 7:30 AM. The national flag will be hoisted at 7:35 AM, followed by the national anthem and a national salute at 7:37 AM. Prime Minister Modi’s address will commence at 7:45 AM. Upon arrival at the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi will be greeted by senior officials, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The Prime Minister will then be presented with a Guard of Honour by the Indian Armed Forces and Delhi Police. The national flag hoisting party will comprise 32 other rank personnel, including one officer each from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police. This 128-member contingent will present the national salute during the flag hoisting. Following the flag hoisting, the Tricolour will be given a national salute. An Air Force band, consisting of a JCO and 25 other ranks, will perform the national anthem during the flag hoisting and national salute.
