In a display of exceptional mountaineering prowess, the Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps successfully scaled Mount Kang Yatse in Ladakh’s challenging Markha Valley. This expedition, which took place from June 25th to July 4th, 2025, served as a tribute to the brave soldiers on the occasion of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas. The team of highly trained mountaineers summited both Mount Kang Yatse I (6400 m) and Mount Kang Yatse II (6245 m), overcoming formidable challenges, particularly on Mount Kang Yatse I, known for its technical difficulty and unpredictable weather. This achievement highlights the Army’s commitment to operational readiness and technical proficiency in high-altitude environments, enhancing its ability to operate in inhospitable terrains and maintain operational superiority in strategically vital sectors of Eastern Ladakh.
