The Indian Navy is spearheading ‘Trishul’, a significant tri-services exercise set to commence in early November 2025. This large-scale operation, involving the Indian Army and Indian Air Force, is designed to boost joint operational readiness and showcase the nation’s integrated defense capabilities across land, sea, and air. The Headquarters Western Naval Command will coordinate the exercise, which will unfold across the challenging creek and desert terrains of Rajasthan and Gujarat, alongside amphibious operations in the North Arabian Sea. Key participating formations include the Army Southern Command, Western Naval Command, and South Western Air Command, bolstered by the Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force, and numerous other central agencies, highlighting crucial inter-agency cooperation. The exercise’s core objectives are to synchronize operational procedures, enhance platform and infrastructure interoperability, strengthen network integration, and advance multi-domain joint operations. It will feature extensive deployments of naval warships and Air Force aircraft, alongside amphibious drills involving the INS Jalashwa and LCUs. Furthermore, ‘Trishul’ will include joint exercises in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber Warfare, as well as carrier operations integrated with shore-based Air Force assets. A significant aspect will be the showcasing of indigenous defense systems, aligning with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, and refining tactics for modern warfare threats. Ultimately, ‘Trishul’ signifies the armed forces’ commitment to integrated operations and bolstering national security.
