India’s first bullet train is scheduled to commence operations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor by 2027. This high-speed rail project will cover a distance of 508 kilometers, featuring 12 stations along the route. The bullet train is expected to complete the journey in approximately 2 hours and 7 minutes, operating at a speed of 320 kilometers per hour. The infrastructure includes the construction of 25 bridges, with 21 located in Gujarat and 4 in Maharashtra. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has indicated that the station designs will reflect modern aesthetics while incorporating elements of local culture. Concurrently, in Rajasthan, an unprecedented number of applicants, exceeding 2.5 million, have registered for 54,000 peon positions. A significant 75% of these candidates are overqualified, holding advanced degrees such as PhDs, Master’s degrees, and B.Ed qualifications. The examination is scheduled to take place on September 19, 20, and 21, across 38 districts, with 1286 examination centers accommodating approximately 4.11 lakh candidates per session.
