The Chinese short-video app TikTok has resurfaced in discussions, with rumors of its return to India circulating on social media. The Congress party has reacted with a post on X, sparking debate. The post highlighted the reported operation of a ‘TikTok’ website in India, linking it to a period when 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in clashes with China. The Congress party questioned the government’s actions, referencing an initial clean chit given to China by the Prime Minister, followed by a ban on TikTok, allegedly after pressure from the Congress. The post suggests that the Prime Minister is again engaging with China, including meetings with the Chinese Foreign Minister and a planned visit to China, coinciding with the TikTok news. The Congress suggests that the Prime Minister’s apparent affection for China outweighs national interests, likening it to a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, where the sacrifices of soldiers are disregarded in favor of a deal with China.
