A shocking incident has occurred in Ranchi, Jharkhand, where a five-year-old girl was raped. The child had attended a wedding ceremony. The perpetrator lured her to a secluded garden under the pretext of giving her mangoes and committed the heinous act.
The assault came to light when the bloodied and distraught girl returned home. Her parents immediately understood what had happened. The child was rushed to a local hospital for initial treatment and later referred to a hospital in Ranchi due to the severity of her condition.
Following the incident, enraged locals apprehended the accused, identified as Karmadev Urav, and severely beat him. Police arrived at the scene and rescued the suspect from the mob. A case has been registered against him under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections based on the parents’ complaint. The incident took place in a village under the Chano police station, approximately 30 kilometers from Ranchi. The accused, reportedly intoxicated, lured the child to a garden with the promise of mangoes before committing the crime.
