A CID team conducted raids in the Namkum area of Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Saturday, uncovering a fraud scheme that exploited young people under the guise of providing employment. The raids targeted two locations: a building above the Pushpanjali Place on Ketari Bagan Ghat Road and the office of Aryavart Associate near Lower Chutia Lota Factory. The investigation revealed a scam where individuals were lured with promises of jobs and then defrauded. During the operation, the police detained 15 young men and women from Pushpanjali Place, who were reportedly undergoing training, along with a computer operator and another individual from Lower Chutia. Authorities seized laptops, printers, rubber stamps, bills, and Ayurvedic products from the site. The detained individuals are being questioned at the Namkum police station. The raiding team included ASP Deepak Kumar, DSP Headquarters I Amar Kumar Pandey, CID Police Station in-charge Naval Kishore, and officers from the Namkum and Chutia police stations. Officials have declined to provide specific details, citing an ongoing investigation. It is understood that the fraudsters collected money from individuals under the pretext of providing employment through skill programs advertised with false promises. Trainees were allegedly shown lucrative opportunities and then made to market Ayurvedic products, with those failing to meet sales targets being terminated. One student, who did not receive a promised job after completing training, filed a complaint with the CID, leading to the raid. Hundreds of people are believed to have been involved in the scam.
