Compensation of Up to ₹20 Lakh Per Acre for Landowners: Umesh

Landowners in the Chitra colliery area will now benefit from a transparent and advantageous option under an annuity scheme. This initiative aims to provide significant benefits to non-leaseholding villagers affected by land acquisition in Jharkhand and West Bengal. The government has announced two impactful options: a lump-sum compensation plan and a modified annuity scheme, which will directly benefit thousands of families. Colliery agent Umesh Prasad Choudhary stated that this scheme is particularly important for families whose land has been acquired for land development projects. The plan ensures transparency, balance, and long-term benefits. Detailed documentation will be released soon. He mentioned that the maximum market rate for compensation in Jharkhand is up to ₹20 lakh per acre.
