In the Balumath police station area of Latehar district, criminals set fire to two vehicles near the Chamatu Colliery. The incident occurred late Friday night. After receiving information, a police team arrived at the scene and began investigating the matter. They have also launched raids to arrest the criminals.
According to sources, around five to six criminals armed with weapons arrived at the colliery premises late Friday night. The criminals set fire to a Hyva truck and another vehicle parked near the colliery. They fled the scene after committing the act.
It is believed that the criminals carried out this act to demand extortion money. For some time, criminals have been trying to establish their presence in this area. However, due to the police’s activity, the criminals’ plans have not been successful. Therefore, the criminals are trying to spread fear in the area by carrying out such violent incidents.
In this regard, Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav said that raids are underway to arrest the criminals. The arrest of all the criminals will be made soon.
