The ‘East Tech Symposium-2025’ (Defence Expo) was inaugurated. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the inaugural ceremony held at the Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khelgaon, Ranchi. Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the day was significant for the state, with the historic event organized by the Union Ministry of Defence. He expressed optimism that the event would achieve its objectives, emphasizing the potential for growth in defense-related industries in Jharkhand, and committed to supporting the central government in making the defense sector self-reliant. The Chief Minister highlighted Jharkhand’s potential, including the availability of raw materials and uranium, and mentioned the presence of established industries, including HEC, which plays a crucial role in manufacturing components. He regretted the current state of HEC and emphasized the need for collaboration between the central and state governments to support industries, aiming for self-reliance in the defense sector. The Chief Minister also noted the presence of the Defence Chief of the Indian Armed Forces and mentioned the positive efforts in the MSME sector, assuring full support from the state government to the defense sector. The Governor, Chief Minister, and other dignitaries reviewed the Defence Expo, which saw participation from defense experts, industrial organizations, technical institutions, and people associated with small and medium enterprises across the country.
