In a shocking incident in the Khunti district of Jharkhand, two friends riding a motorcycle were attacked late Friday night. One young man was killed on the spot, while the other was seriously injured. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information from villagers and took custody of the body for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have initiated a search for the perpetrators.
The two friends were returning home from the Saiko weekly market when the attack occurred near Kocharidih village. The assailants first threw chili powder into their eyes, causing them to lose control and fall off the motorcycle. Subsequently, the attackers, who were on two other motorcycles, assaulted Choyta Surukud with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death.
Singa Munda, the other young man, sustained severe injuries. The attackers fled the scene. Villagers discovered the incident when they passed by late at night and found one man dead and the other injured. The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where Choyta Surukud was pronounced dead. Police from Murhu police station arrived at the hospital and, based on the injured man’s statement, registered a case and began searching for the suspects. They have assured that the accused will be apprehended soon.
